International media reported that on September 17, rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested at a hotel in New York City Sean to investigate charges of rape, sex trafficking,…
The rapper’s lawyer – Marc Agnifilo shared with news agencies outside the court in New York that he will “fight with all his might” to prove Sean “Diddy” Combs’ innocence.
“He will fight with all his energy and strength along with the full confidence of his lawyers, and I look forward to a long fight with a good outcome for Mr. Combs,” said Sean “Diddy” Combs’ lawyer.
In an indictment unsealed on September 17, prosecutors accused rapper Notorious BIG of manipulating women into performing “elaborately staged performances” that he called “bizarre.” The performances allegedly involved male prostitutes, all of whom were arranged by Sean “Diddy” Combs, prosecutors allege. They also claim the rapper used drugs to influence the women and “ensure” the performances took place. Prosecutors stressed that he would also use extortion against their careers, threats to cut off financial support, and violence/intimidation to get the acts done. The indictment also claims that Sean “Diddy” Combs assaulted multiple women in 2019. When video footage of him allegedly “kicking, dragging, and throwing a vase” at a woman at a Los Angeles hotel was captured on camera in 2016, the rapper allegedly tried to bribe an employee in exchange for his silence.
Following Sean “Diddy” Combs’ arrest, Agnifilo issued a statement to People expressing his disappointment in the “unjust” prosecution. He called the rapper a self-made businessman, a loving family man, and a proven philanthropist who has built an empire and uplifted the black community: “He is an imperfect man, but he is not a criminal.” The attorney also credited Combs for his cooperation throughout the process, moving to New York to serve as part of the investigation, and urged people to “withhold judgment” until a final verdict is announced.
