Timothée Chalamet and girlfriend Kylie Jenner stopped to take a picture with an LA first responder amid the hustle and bustle of the 2025 Oscars.

During the ceremony, the Oscars paid tribute to first responders who helped to fight the devastating Los Angeles wildfires in January. The members of the fire department in attendance received a huge standing ovation from the crowd of Hollywood stars halfway through the ceremony.

Among those stars were Timothée and Kylie, sitting front row, as Chalamet was nominated this year for Best Actor for his role in A Complete Unknown. The new power couple was later seen making their way through the packed hallway when someone captured the candid moment.

As the two walked through a crowd of cameras, Timothée’s arms are wrapped around Kylie, who helped him through the chaos, before the first responder sparked a conversation. Timothée stopped to take a selfie with the LA hero, with a big smile on his face, despite the Oscar loss and Kylie leaning into the photo.

Fans took to Reddit to praise the pair, with one gushing, “The way he took over the lead was so hot.” Another posted, “I’m so happy for them.”

Earlier in the evening, Oscars host Conan O’Brien praised the first responders by saying, “On behalf of all of Los Angeles, thank you for all that you do.” He then stepped aside for the members of the fire department to allow them to tell their own jokes.

He noted that there were some up-and-coming lines “that I’m not even brave enough to tell,” but that “everyone in the audience has to laugh.” The host added, “These are heroes!”

The first person to speak from the fire department received a lot of laughs when he said, “All of our hearts go out to those who have lost their homes, and I’m talking about the producers of JOKER 2.”

The hero who was seen taking the photo with Timothée told a joke on stage about his role as Bob Dylan. He said, “To play Bob Dylan, Timothée Chalamet learned to sing. In fact, his singing was so good, he almost lost the part”, erupting into a cheeky grin.

It appears that before the selfie, the pair were potentially laughing about the digs made at the actor, and Timothée reassured him to say that he “loved it.” Many people are praising Timothée and Kylie for taking the time to acknowledge the first responder one-on-one. Among other celebrities taking the time out for first responders was Selena Gomez.

In a video posted by E! News, the Emilia Pérez star was seen signing autographs for members of the fire department. It sounded like Selena said, “I have to sign this; this is way too cool.”
