Emmy-winning actress, producer, and advocate Kerry Washington will be celebrated with the 2,796th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday, December 2, 2024, at 11:30 AM PT. The ceremony will be held at 6258 Hollywood Boulevard, in front of The W Hollywood Hotel, and will be streamed live at www.walkoffame.com.
Washington’s star will be placed in the Television category, commemorating her achievements as a trailblazer in the industry. Hollywood Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Steve Nissen will serve as the emcee, joined by guest speakers Tyler Perry and Shonda Rhimes.

Kerry Washington’s Career
A Bronx native, Washington gained worldwide recognition for her role as Olivia Pope in ABC’s Scandal, where she became the first Black woman since 1974 to lead a network drama. Her work on the series earned her two Emmy nominations, a Golden Globe nod, and multiple NAACP Image Awards.
Washington’s extensive filmography includes acclaimed projects such as Django Unchained, Ray, The Last King of Scotland, and American Son. She also established herself as a producer and director through her company, Simpson Street, which has delivered Emmy-nominated works like Confirmation and Little Fires Everywhere.
Her upcoming projects include Netflix’s The Six Triple Eight, a historical drama about the first Women’s Army Corps unit of Color to serve overseas during WWII, and the third installment of Knives Out.
