Dodgers Destroy Rockies: Muncy Unleashes Grand Slam Fury in Blowout Win.Yen

The Los Angeles Dodgers put their power on display Wednesday night, rolling to an 8-1 victory over the Colorado Rockies at Dodger Stadium. A grand slam from Max Muncy, a solo shot from Michael Conforto and a sharp groundout from Yoshinobu Yamamoto fueled the victory, helping L.A. extend its strong run in the NL West.

The win improved the Dodgers’ record to [adding their current W-L record], putting them firmly in the postseason camp as the season heads into the summer.

With the Dodgers up 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth inning, Max Muncy stepped into the batter’s box with the bases filled and no outs. He didn’t miss. Muncy hit a powerful grand slam to right-center, widening the game and electrifying the home crowd.

“You want to get over those moments. That was great early in the game,” Muncy said after the game.

It tied Muncy’s [added HRs of the season] and gave him [added updated RBI total], reaffirming his reputation as one of the Dodgers’ best hitters.

Just an inning earlier, Michael Conforto set the tone with a solo home run, continuing his recent hot streak at the plate. The veteran outfielder has quietly been a steady presence in the lineup since returning from injury.

On the other side of the ball, Yoshinobu Yamamoto had another calm and efficient performance. The Japanese right-hander allowed just one run [add innings pitched], scattered six hits and walked zero.

His fastball had bite, his split was deceptive, and he kept the Rockies off balance all night.

“I felt good with my command,” Yamamoto said through a translator. “I focused on making every pitch.”

“We’re getting closer to the team we know we can be,” Roberts said.
