Dallas Wings general manager Curt Miller couldnt resist taking an unsubtle dig at the Los Angeles Sparks after his former team failed to land the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft.

On Sunday, the Wings sent shockwaves across the WNBA after securing the first overall pick in the leagues Draft lottery, despite the Sparks boasting best odds to obtain the selection. With the highly-coveted pick, Dallas is expected to select UConn star Paige Bueckers, whos averaging 21.3 points, four assists and 3.7 rebounds through three games this season.

Shortly after winning the Bueckers sweepstakes, Miller directed a playful jab at the Sparks. Back in September, the former head coach departed Los Angeles following two seasons at the helm after the two sides mutually agreed to part ways.

Addressing his ousting, Sparks governor and managing partner Eric Holoman said in an official statement, On behalf of our ownership group and franchise, I would like to thank Coach Miller for his passion and commitment to the Sparks organization these past two seasons. We wish him well moving forward.

Several months later, there appears to be no love lost between Miller and the Sparks. Taking to social media over the weekend, the 56-year-old shared a gif from the film Good Will Hunting in which actor Matt Damons character delivers the signature line: How do you like them apples?! He additionally commented over the gif, Lets go!  sparking a flurry of responses from cheerful Wings fans.

You got the last laugh, one X user wrote, with another adding: We love a petty king!

A third asserted: This is the best thing Ive seen this week. Legendary.

Speaking to reporters on the heels of winning the No. 1 overall pick, Miller shed light on the immense impact that having the selection has already had on the Wings  specifically their hunt for a new head coach. What an exciting day for the Dallas Wings, he began.

Its such an energizing day already  what a number one pick does for your fanbase, it energizes your team. For someone like myself whos just started the head coaching search, what an opportunity to be out talking to head coaching candidates to take over the Dallas Wings coaching job, knowing that we have the upcoming No. 1 pick.

I cant begin to tell you the interest coming from, not only WNBA, but outside of WNBA, like youve never seen before, Miller continued. This is only going to increase it.

Its no surprise that the opportunity to land Bueckers  heralded by many as a generational talent  is already generating buzz around Dallas. The 23-year-old actively stands as one of the biggest names in college sports after recently being named a 2024 WBCA, AP, and USBWA First Team All-American. She additionally took home the The Naismith Player of the Year award in 2021.
